Jeep Retrim

The Jeep Wrangler is a wonderfully individual vehicle with plenty of character and charm.  However, the standard cloth interior is just a tad bland and although all very comfortable and functional, adds little in the way of style.

Our brief from the lady owner of this Jeep, was to design a unique interior that was bold in its use of colours, textures and patterns and made a real statement.

We selected top quality hides from Muirhead Leather, using plain black leather combined with perforated black leather to add texture interest, and Hyacinth leather as a striking 'accent' colour.

Two types of decorative stitch pattern were utilised.  One is the diamond quilted stitching used within the Hyacinth leather.  The other pulls on a technique we often employ, namely taking a design feature from the outside of a vehicle and bringing it inside.  In this instance we selected the distinctive 'lozenge' shapes of the Jeep front radiator grille and incorporated them into the stitching of the seat centres.

As part of the front seat retrim, we also took the opportunity to include heated seat elements.  These utilise highly efficient carbon elements that put out some proper heat, and come with 2 settings, 'boil' and 'simmer'!

The plain white plastic interior of the roof desperately needed a lift, so insert panels were fabricated and trimmed in diamond quilted Hyacinth leather to complement the rest of the interior.

Plenty more could have been done to the interior, but sometimes 'less is more' and so we decided to leave the standard black carpets, door cards and dashboard well alone, so allowing them to form a subtle backdrop to the rest of the new interior.
