Lotus Elise or Exige Retrim

One of our own Elises had a rather tired interior, trimmed in grey cloth. It was heavily stained and smelt damp, the driver's seat had holes in the trim and was uncomfortable as the foams had worn out.
The brief was to carry out a retrim that was simple but elegant and gave a noticeable lift in terms of look and feel. Also, the work was to follow as far as possible, the standard prices from our price list.

Using leather rather than the original cloth, immediately gave more of a quality feel to the cabin. Extra 'interest' was added through perforated leather panels, and then red stitching to complement the body colour of the car, provided the final detail.
The seats now have black leather shells with perforated leather centre sections, Keprotec wear patches, and ProBax inserts for extra comfort.
The door cards which were previously bare plastic are now trimmed in black leather with perforated leather insert panels.
The centre console and rear 'cup holder' were bare plastic but are now trimmed in black leather with perforated leather gaiters.
The floor was treated to new footwell carpets, and carpet was also added under the seats. The latter had the benefit of hiding the aluminium floor pan that is visible to the side of the driver's seat and which looked unsightly as it had surface corrosion and staining.
It was decided not to do any work to the dashboard, steering wheel and sill covers as these all looked very presentable.
